Specialist counselling support, delivered in your school

Supporting the emotional wellbeing of pupils is an essential part of creating a safe, inclusive and successful school environment.

Individual Counselling for Schools (ICSS) provides schools with flexible, professional counselling support for children and young people who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional difficulties, bereavement, trauma, school-related stress, low self-esteem or challenges affecting their ability to engage with school life.

Our service works alongside your existing pastoral, safeguarding and SEND provision, giving pupils access to a confidential, supportive space where they can feel heard, understood and valued. We tailor the service around your school's needs rather than expecting your school to fit into a fixed model.

A counselling service designed around your school

Every school has different needs.

ICSS can be structured around:

• Individual counselling sessions for identified pupils

• Short-term or longer-term therapeutic support

• On-site counselling within the school day

• Flexible session frequency

• Support for pupils experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief, trauma, school stress and emotional difficulties

• Support for children and young people with additional needs

• Regular communication with designated school staff, within appropriate confidentiality and safeguarding boundaries

• Service reviews to ensure the provision continues to meet your school's needs

Our approach is compassionate, flexible and personalised. Therapeutic work may draw on approaches such as person-centred counselling, CBT, DBT, creative therapy and other appropriate evidence-informed techniques, depending on the individual needs of the pupil.
