Safe Spaces At Little Lighthouse Counselling: Support for Young Minds

We are here to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children and young adults aged up to 25 to explore their feelings and build resilience. Our dedicated team is committed to supporting children and young adults on their journey towards emotional well-being. Together, we can help them thrive and grow!
We do not provide crisis support.

Our Unique and Simple 3 Step Process
Step 1: Free 15min Telephone Consultation
When you fill in our enquiry form, we’ll gently guide you to the next step by sending an invitation to book a free 15-minute consultation. This is a relaxed, supportive space where we can talk through your child’s needs in more detail and explore whether we’re the right fit for your family.
If you’d prefer, you’re very welcome to give us a call 01922 663644—if we’re available, we can often carry out the consultation there and then, making things as easy and convenient as possible for you.
Step 2: Initial Assessment
After your consultation, the next step is to arrange an initial assessment. This is usually carried out over the phone with parents or guardians only, as it gives you the space to speak openly and comfortably.
During this conversation, we’ll explore your child’s difficulties in more depth, work through some questionnaires together, and begin to build a thoughtful, personalised clinical treatment plan to support your child moving forward.
Step 3: Counselling
Following the assessment, we carefully match your child with the counsellor who is best suited to support their needs. Your allocated counsellor will then be in touch to arrange the first session and answer any initial questions you may have.
We aim to offer a consistent and reassuring routine, so sessions are usually held on the same day and at the same time each week. Counselling continues for as long as your child needs, moving at a pace that feels right for them.
Every child’s journey is unique, but many begin to experience meaningful, positive changes within around 6-12 sessions.
